We have recently invested in a new UV Printer. With this comes a wealth of creative opportunities. One is that we can now create partial varnish on printed matter and discs.
Partial varnish means that you can print text and designs with varnish just like with paint. This way you can get nice effects that shimmer at certain angles. You can choose to build up the varnish in layers to create a 3D feeling in the print. Often a detail or a heading is left in varnish and the rest of the text unvarnished to give an extra shine to the printed matter.
