Custom CDs in cardboard sleeves, minimum order of 50

Our CDs in cardboard sleeves are one of our bestsellers, and with their stylish yet affordable format, it’s not hard to see why!

This type of sleeve is called a “cardboard sleeve” in English, and many of you probably recognize it as the standard for singles and EPs. Our cardboard sleeves are printed in 4-color process on 300-gram Ensocoat paper, resulting in a sturdy and protective sleeve with a really stylish look. If you want extra protection, you can opt for plastic wrapping. In that case, each individual copy is wrapped in transparent cellophane, which not only protects the printed surface but also shows that the packaging is unopened.

The price includes printing on the front and back, plus a CD-R disc with 4-color printing. We use CD-R discs with a white surface for printing, which results in excellent reproduction of images and text. If you’re interested in a different type of disc—for example, one with a silver surface for a metallic print, or a black underside—please contact us, and we’ll see how we can best help you!

Cardboard sleeves are an eco-friendly and 100% recyclable CD case that makes a truly professional impression at a low cost. For smaller runs, your order is manufactured and duplicated at our factory in Stockholm, and for runs of 500 or more, your order is manufactured and pressed by our supplier in Austria. We have a lead time of approximately 10 business days when production is handled in-house. If you need a shorter lead time, please contact us—we can usually work something out!

Course of events after ordering:

  • Once you have placed your order (don’t forget to add‘Design of cover‘ if you want help with this; we can of course also add this afterwards if you change your mind), you will receive an order confirmation email plus an attached ZIP file with information from us. In this email there is also a link where you can upload both music and print files. NOTE! We prefer either a DDP or 16-bit WAV files for music. For more info on print originals, please read the PDF file in the attached ZIP file.
  • You need to register your production with the NCB before we can send it to you, so it is best to do this as soon as possible. NCB is a collaboration between the Nordic countries’ copyright organizations, including Sweden’s STIM, and is responsible for rights in connection with the production of CDs; you can find more information on their website ncb.dk. You register your production online, and can then choose Skivfabriken as your production factory. A receipt will then go directly to us and you can then also make a share of royalty-free promo copies.
  • Once we have received the material from you, we will upload it to our templates and check that outcomes and the like are included, and that everything looks okay. If everything looks good or only required minor changes, we will send you a proof for you to review and approve – alternatively, we will ask you to change/correct something and send new files. If you want a physical proof sent to you, let us know, otherwise we only send digital proofs.
  • Once everything has been approved, we will start production, and within about five working days we will have sent your production to you. Depending on where you live, it takes about 1-2 working days before you can pick up your package; customers outside Sweden can expect a slightly longer delivery time, especially if the package has to go through customs. We will then send the invoice to your email and you will have 30 days to pay!

For orders of fewer than 500 CDs in cardboard sleeves, we print your cardboard sleeves and CDs in Stockholm. The delivery time is then between 3 and 10 business days. For these orders, the discs are printed on CD-Rs with a Diamond Silver underside. These discs are professionally printed and are indistinguishable from pressed CDs. For orders of 500 or more, we press the CDs into the cardboard sleeves at our factory in Germany; the price includes glass masters. The delivery time for CDs in cardboard sleeves is approximately 10 business days.

If you need help with design and layout, we can help you with this. Simply add the product Help with design and layout to your order and we will contact you with suggestions for your cardboard pocket and disc.
