Our fine cardboard pockets for CDs are printed in 4-color on 300 gram cardboard paper. Each sheet is punched and glued at our own printing facility in Falkenberg.
We produce a variety of cases and here I will present the differences between them. What is the difference between a Digifile and a Digisleeve, or a Digipak.
The simple cardboard CD pocket printed on the front and back is very popular. It feels lavish and serious, while being relatively cheap to produce. They also avoid using unnecessary plastic in their production, which is appreciated by many. However, the problem comes when you want to print more information about your album, text, images and lyrics.
Then you have some other options.
4 page Digifile
A Digifile is printed on four pages and is opened like a book. The dimensions are like a CD case e.g. JewelCase. The CD is fixed in a slot on the right side and there are large printing areas on the front, back and inside where you can add text. You can have a notch on both the right and left side to accommodate a booklet if you want to include a larger text booklet.
4 page Digisleeve
A Digisleeve differs from a Digifile in that the record is inserted from the side like an LP case. You could say that a Digisleeve is like a 4-sided cardboard pocket. You get four fine print areas on the front, back and inside. If you want to include a text booklet, you can have an opening on both the right and left side.
Digipak
A Digipak, like a Digisleeve, has four printing surfaces, but the disc is attached to a holder, called a tray, which can be transparent or black. A Digipack has an exclusive feel and is a bit sturdier thanks to the plastic tray.
